Meet Sacred Space Yoga with Carol Ann


Carol Ann started practicing yoga several years ago for chronic lower back pain. For years her practice was purely physical, and while she enjoyed and continued her practice she felt something missing; the spiritual connection. It wasn't until she suffered a trauma in her life that the missing element would surface.


"I finally got it. While on my mat I found I could accept the suffering and find peace through the connection of body and breath. Yoga, coupled with my deep faith in God, became a prayerful moving meditation, an inward journey that brought stilling calm to my spirit, a sacred space." The path to certification was a calling. While in savasana the thought came to me I should finally get my teaching certification, something I'd wanted to do for some time.



Carol completed the RYT-200 training May 28, 2016 through Life Power Yoga. Her passion is for students to discover a body, breath, spirit connection in yoga that will take them beyond the mat into their daily lives. "I want students to understand that yoga transcends our suffering and we can cultivate peace within ourselves in any difficulty."

Improving wellbeing is more than just a fitness decision, it’s a lifestyle commitment. My sessions provide an excellent opportunity to exercise your body and mind, but they’re also places to meet and share with other engaged and open-minded individuals. I am a Certified RYT200 Yoga Teacher and offer yoga for all levels of experience and age. I am available for group classes and private instruction. Join my community today.

Mondays 5:45pm Align and Refine in the Cave (1712 Salem Rd)


Align and Refine is designed for Levels 1&2 (some working knowledge). This class will refine your alignment in essential poses combined with breath awareness and fluid movement for a balanced practice. Moving through a warm-up into strategically sequenced postures, working toward a particular peak pose or targeting a specific body part. Builds heat, endurance, flexibility, stability, and concentration.

Saturdays 7:00am Morning Flow (Funxional Fitness)


Vinyasa Flow designed to get your day moving. Lots of Sun Salutations to warm up and then Focused asanas to build strength, flexibility, and mental focus

Wednesdays All Levels Evening Flow 5:30pm (300 West Randolph St. McLeansboro)

Vinyasa Flow classes are designed to cultivate heat in the body with sequences involving sun salutations, standing and seated postures, and a strong focus on the power of breath awareness.

Thursdays 7:00pm Candlelight Yoga in the Cave 

Join me for a wonderful hour of yoga by candlelight. We will move through a series of reclined Yin Asanas for improved flexibility followed by Restorative postures to leave you completely relaxed and stress free.
Spaces are limited to 15 so PM your reservation. Cost is $10

Fridays 9:15am Easy Beginner/Senior Yoga @King City Books

Beginner/Senior Yoga covers the fundamental principles of alignment and breath work in a flow of postures linked together by the breath. Students will be introduced to yoga postures through step-by-step verbal description and demonstration. If you have never tried yoga this is the class for you. $10

Saturdays 8:30am Morning Wake Up

All Levels are welcome for a gentle wake up. Relaxed seated and standing postures to gently enliven the mind and body! $10
